Duane Morris has an opening in its China Practice for an associate.
Duties: Work primarily with Chinese and Taiwanese clients conducting business in the U.S.; and U.S. clients conducting business in China and Taiwan. Provide counsel on commercial litigation, international investment/trade, mergers and acquisitions, private equity investment, corporate and employment matters. Draft legal memoranda. Conduct facts/legal research, document review, due diligence/analysis to provide clients with legal advice. Draft legal documents to facilitate cross-border transactions. Prepare and file corporate governance documents with the appropriate jurisdictions and litigate cases. May be assigned to various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
REQUIREMENTS: Juris Doctor degree and 36 months experience in job offered or legal related occupation. Experience must include: 1) Chinese and U.S. corporate and employment law; 2) U.S. import and export law; 3) private equity investment; 4) mergers and acquisitions; 5) Online legal research tools (court.gov.cn, pkulaw.cn, law.wkinfo.com.cn, civillaw.com.cn, law-lib.com, gsxt.saic.gov.cn); 6) U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act; and 7) License to practice law in Pennsylvania. Experience may be gained concurrently. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
