The Intellectual Property Group in our Bloomfield Hills office seeks a patent associate to join its growing Intellectual Property Practice Group. Qualified candidates should be registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and have a minimum of two years of law firm experience that primarily involves the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Experience with a variety of technology areas, including automotive, is preferred. Work will include advising clients on the clearance, validity and infringement of patent and trademark rights. The candidate should hold a degree in electrical engineering and/or mechanical engineering (with significant electro-mechanical experience). Excellent written and oral advocacy skills are required. The work requires attention to detail and the ability to produce quality work under tight deadlines.
