EMPLOYEE BENEFITS ATTORNEY at Robinson & Cole LLP (Multiple Location)

Robinson & Cole’s Labor & Employment Practice Group seeks an experienced attorney to join its Hartford, Stamford, Boston, Providence, or NY offices. Qualified candidates will have four or more years of experience advising private and public sector employers with respect to qualified and nonqualified retirement plans. Specific experience includes: representing clients before the IRS and DOL with regard to determination letter applications, ruling requests, plan correction applications and plan audits; advising publicly and privately held companies, governmental entities and non-profit organizations regarding all aspects of their qualified retirement plans; guiding clients in the design of new benefit programs, modification of existing programs, plan interpretation and application, changes in legal requirements and plan administration; counseling clients regarding their responsibilities as plan sponsors, plan administrators, trustees and fiduciaries under ERISA,the Code and other laws governing employee benefit plans; drafting, revising and updating benefit plan materials, including plan documents, plan amendments, investment policy statements, notices, policies and procedures; and assisting clients in correcting plan errors through IRS and DOL correction programs, including drafting of applications, negotiations with regulators and implementation of corrections.

Admission to the bar of your office of residence is required. Superior academic credentials, excellent writing, analytical, research, negotiation, and communication skills also required.
