Job Description

Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP seeks an associate for its Labor and Employment Department in the Detroit office. This position is appropriate for attorneys with one to four years of experience in the area of discrimination claims (age, sex, race, national origin, religion, ADA), wrongful discharge suits, breach of contract claims, OSHA/MIOSHA claims, FMLA suits, restrictive covenant disputes and protection of trade secrets claims. Applicants must have experience practicing before both state and federal courts as well as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, or other similar agency. Applicants should also have experience employment law and human resource counseling.

Applicants must have the requisite labor and employment experience, excellent credentials, and strong interpersonal skills. Any applicant must have graduated with at least a 3.4 grade point average or have been in the top 15% of his or her law school class. Law review or law journal experience is preferred
