Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking an attorney with 1-5 years of land use/municipal law experience to join the Business Law Department in our Chicago office as a staff attorney. This is a full time, non-partner track position supporting the Land Use and Entitlements practice in our Real Estate Practice Group. Qualified candidate will have a solid familiarity with zoning boards, public hearings, and ordinances; have a clear understanding of the relevant land use laws and regulations; possess the ability to analyze problems, propose alternatives, and recommend solutions, along with the ability to research complex issues and prepare memoranda and correspondence; and have experience working effectively with multiple competing deadlines and interests among various parties. Knowledge of municipal law is key and public affairs and/or government experience is a plus. We are seeking a well-rounded, confident, and highly-motivated attorney with strong interpersonal skills, who is eager gain valuable experience while supporting an active land use practice. To be considered, a candidate must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and must be in good standing and an active member of the Illinois Bar.
