The San Francisco office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, a full service firm with a national energy practice, is seeking a mid-level associate (3-6 years of experience) for an opening in it's energy law practice group.

The associate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge energy matters, including renewable energy. The energy group represents clients in a wide variety of regulatory proceedings, commercial and financing transactions, and resolution of contract and commercial disputes. The associate will have the opportunity to interact directly with clients, have first and second chair responsibilities, and be given the training and resources to begin developing their own clients.

Candidates must have a JD and be a current or pending member, in good standing, of the California State Bar. Experience with legal issues relating to the development and operation of power plants and prior participation in natural gas, electricity, and water regulatory proceedings represents a major plus. Strong candidates will have some familiarity with the regulatory and commercial challenges that our energy clients face in being subject to a multiplicity of state and federal regulatory obligations. Prior law firm experience is not required but would be very beneficial. Candidates with both litigation and transactional backgrounds are encouraged to apply
