Description:

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP is seeking a highly qualified Associate with 6-8 years of corporate transactional experience in the music/entertainment industry to join our nationally-prominent Entertainment and Media Practice in our New York office.

Ideal candidates will have solid experience in music transactions including demonstrated experience negotiating and drafting agreements in the music industry (recording agreements, distribution agreements, publishing agreements, producer agreements, side artist agreements, writer/split agreements, sponsorship and endorsement agreements, management agreements, festival agreements and merchandise agreements). Ideal candidates will also have experience with copyright , trademark, licensing, exclusivity, and usage rights matters. Business transactions experience in the art and fashion industries is a plus.

Requirements:

At least 6 years of strong transactional experience in the music industry

Excellent writing and communication skills

Effective and efficient problem solvers with the ability to work independently and proactively with confidence

Admitted to the NY bar and in good standin
