The Intellectual Property and Technical Analyst will receive a generous total compensation package. Bonuses are awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance. As an Intellectual Property and Technical Analyst at Latham, you will contribute your expertise to support the attorneys with cases related to intellectual property litigation and transactional issues. Your responsibilities will include these and other critical functions:
Exercises discretion and independent judgment in conducting analyses or providing guidance regarding technical issues related to intellectual property litigation and transactional issues specifically software, electronics and semiconductor technologies.
Assists attorneys with (1) patent litigation by helping to prepare infringement contentions, invalidity contentions, claim interpretations, technical reports, tutorials and outlines for experts, witnesses and team members, (2) trade secret litigation, (3) copyright litigation, and (4) other litigation, particularly matters involving technical subject matter expertise.
Works with outside technical experts to analyze the technology and patents in question.
Drafts technical reports and analyses in support of litigation and transactional issues.
Conducts presentations and educates supervising attorneys in the fields of software, electronics and semiconductor technologies.
As an Intellectual Property and Technical Analyst, you will be expected to apply your outstanding organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Intellectual Property and Technical Analyst must have excellent leadership and presentation skills, strong analytical and technical writing skills, and good knowledge of PC applications, including MS Office. An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering is required. A PHD is preferred. The ideal candidate will also have computer science, electrical engineering and patent field experience; and (3) three years of related work experience.
