Description
The Boston office seeks a Prosecution Paralegal for the intellectual property group. Must have working knowledge of IP procedures, including U.S. PTO and foreign filing guidelines. Strong organizational skills, effective communication skills, and outstanding attention to detail required. Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 5 years in the prosecution area; experience with CPi preferred. Generous benefits package offered.
Essential functions include (Specific responsibilities vary by Practice Group):
Review various claims and prepare draft pleadings or responses for review by the attorney
Gather, organize, summarize and index documents from various sources
Draft correspondence, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, motions,
promissory notes, subpoenas and other related documents
Prepare and maintain trial notebooks and documents to be used at hearings and trials.
Conduct legal research, utilizing internet sources, Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, etc.
Attendance at and participation in any of the following (depending on practice group designation):
depositions, court or administrative hearings, trials, meetings with clients; and preparation of corresponding documentation
Experience Required
5+ years prosecution experience
Trial experience for major case management
Ability to efficiently gather, maintain and organize information and voluminous documentation to
assess claims and initiate responses by the firm
Organizational skills to work independently and meet deadlines in an atmosphere of frequent
interruptions
Organizational skills to maintain daily accounting of time records and input timesheets into the system
directly
Communication skills to interact with all levels of internal staff, attorneys and management and
external clients of the firm
Analytical and critical thinking skills sufficient to make decisions regarding daily work
Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
Minimum education - Bachelors Degree required
