Position Description:

Winston & Strawn, an international law firm with nearly 1,000 attorneys among 18 offices, seeks a highly qualified junior-to-mid-level associate with law firm experience to join the intellectual property group of our litigation practice. The attorney would be resident in our New York office. Candidates are required to have an undergraduate/graduate degree in Electrical Engineering. Ideal candidates will have extensive industry experience, preferably in telecommunications or networking, and two-to-three years of experience at a large law firm litigating and prosecuting patents in the electronic arts. Ideal candidates will also be registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

In addition to excellent academic credentials and large law firm experience, the candidate should possess strong organization, writing, and analytical skills. The firm will consider membership in good standing in another jurisdiction and will support the candidate in the admittance process in accordance with firm policy.

Practice Description:

Winston & Strawn's intellectual property practice provides services in every area of intellectual property law, including:

Strategic intellectual property counseling, audits, and due diligence.
Litigation of disputes concerning all types of intellectual property in federal courts throughout the United States and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and management of litigation before foreign courts.
Supervision of global intellectual property enforcement initiatives, including data privacy and security.
Risk assessment, portfolio management, and prosecution of applications for trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
Development, negotiation, and implementation of trademark, copyright, and patent licenses; product development deals; and outsourcing and consulting contracts.
Virtually all aspects of advertising, marketing, and promotions, including FTC review and counseling and sweepstakes counseling.
