Job Description
We are seeking an Associate Attorney to work on general liability matters. This position will be resident in our Westchester County, NY office. This is a full-time position and offers a competitive salary and benefits package that includes employer matched 401k.
This is a unique opportunity for a motivated attorney to handle substantive work and counsel our clients on diverse and challenging legal matters.
Essential Functions:

Representation of clients in all phases of litigation from initiation to expert discovery in matters involving general liability.
Attend court appearances, hearings , depositions and case management conferences.
Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations.
Draft discovery requests and responses, motions, case evaluation summaries, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
Review discovery responses, depositions and prepare summaries and litigation update reports.
Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims.
Communicate closely with clients during the course of litigation to provide legal analysis, status reports and advice.

Qualifications:

1-3 or more years of litigation experience in a law firm or comparable legal environment.
Insurance defense experience preferred.
Must be admitted to practice in the state of New York.
Excellent writing and organizational skills, and comfortable working in a fast paced and demanding environment.
Strong interpersonal and client relation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
