Associate General Counsel, Government Contracts, Fortune 500 IT Services Company
Submitted by EsqSocial Corpo... on
Elite legal department of industry leader seeks to add an Associate General Counsel to its government contracts group. This AGC will support the company’s intelligence business sector and be the subject matter expert on contract matters involving international customers (foreign military sales). While the emphasis is on federal procurement transactions, the AGC will also be exposed to a wide range of complex issues at the prime and subcontract level, provide risk reviews, assist occasionally on complex disputes or bid protests, and handle one-off legal department initiatives as needed. Accordingly, our client requires a minimum of eight years’ prior experience in government contracts procurement (contract review, structuring and advising), handling disputes with primes and subs, bid protests and compliance reviews, as well as strong knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, and other federal procurement regulations (e.g., SCA, OCI, T&Cs, etc.).
Ideal Profile: A government contracts counsel currently employed by a defense contractor (with prior training as an associate in an AmLaw 200 firm) who possesses an active security clearance; however, our client will also consider an attorney currently practicing in a well-regarded government contracts practice at a firm which represents defense and intelligence industry sector clients (the ability to obtain a security clearance is essential though).
Selling Points: This 10-attorney government contracts group is close-knit and takes a team approach to many of the matters under its portfolio. Our firm has worked closely with this favorite corporate client for many years and has placed 20+ attorneys with them, including many members of this team. The work is complex, diverse and novel but performed in an entrepreneurial environment that supports innovation and best practices. Attorneys work predictable and reasonable hours and telecommuting one day a week (once successfully integrated) is common. We believe this is an excellent opportunity to be part of a high quality (and highly selective) organization with a commitment to professional development and skill enhancement that is equal to other top “best places to work” award recipients.
Local candidates only, please.
