CORPORATE ASSOCIATE JOB POSTING
The Columbus office of Squire Patton Boggs is hiring an associate for our dynamic global corporate practice. The individual hired for this position will have an opportunity to assume significant responsibility in complex transactional matters for key clients and be part of a local and global team. The candidate can also expect to be involved with a variety of assignments and receive valuable hands-on experience across a range of disciplines, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, debt finance, capital markets, joint ventures, strategic alliances, securities offerings, corporate governance and global supply chain. 
 
 Academic and Professional Qualifications
•Possess a JD from an accredited law school and a strong academic record. Preference given to graduates of top schools and/or to those within top 10% of graduating class.
•Must be admitted to practice in a US State Bar and be in good standing. Admission to the State Bar of Ohio is expected if not currently admitted.
 
•At least two (2) years of experience working in a law firm handling corporate matters is preferred.
 
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
•Experience and/or a demonstrated interest in the areas of mergers & acquisitions, private equity, venture capital and/or international business transactions.
•Strong organizational, reasoning and research skills; excellent written and verbal communication abilities; good judgment; attention to detail; initiative. 
•Flexibility, composure and the ability to prioritize and handle urgent tasks and requests simultaneously with a high level of competence and accuracy; the ability to remain composed and professional while dealing with complex matters; commitment to professional ethics and client confidentiality; strong client service skills.
•Ability to work without constant supervision, demonstrating initiative in seeking work and managing work load; active in formulating and recommending projects or alternative ways to complete projects that will benefit the matter/client.
