GEICO's corporate office is looking for a claims attorney in our Chevy Chase location. The candidate must have a law degree and be admitted to practice law in at least one state. Jury trial experience, claims experience, and experience analyzing complex insurance coverage scenarios is preferred. 
Job Duties: 
The claims attorney in consultation with and under the direct supervision of a managing attorney, will handle the disposition of claims involving legal questions of coverage, liability and damages. Claims attorney will also handle claims having dollar exposure in excess of regional authority. 
The idea candidate would have the following qualifications:

Strong working knowledge of the rules of evidence, civil procedure, and motions practice
2-5 years litigation experience
The ability to work independently and exercise good judgement
Ability to manage a volume practice
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with LexisNexis and Excel
