Litigation Associate (TCPA Experience Preferred)

The Los Angeles office of Squire Patton Boggs is hiring an Associate with at least two to four years' of general litigation experience to join our class action defense team who are nationally recognized in TCPA litigation and compliance. The individual hired for this position will have an opportunity to be part of a highly collaborative global litigation practice and assume significant responsibility in complex matters for key clients. The candidate can also expect to be involved with a variety of assignments and receive valuable hands-on experience across a range of disciplines from lawyers with industry expertise and thought leaders who have been an integral part of the TCPA landscape from the beginning.

Responsibilities•Advise firm clients on TCPA and consumer class action matters•Assist managing client relationships•Legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, preparing for trials and appearing in court as needed on behalf of clients
Academic and Professional Qualifications•U.S. Juris Doctor Degree•Admitted to practice in the State Bar of California and in good standing.
Professional Skills & Experience•At least 2-4 years' of meaningful experience in a law firm handling general litigation matters•Experience in TCPA and consumer class action is preferred, but not required•Experience in complex litigation areas, including consumer protection, unfair competition, and false advertising•Experience in handling discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting pleadings, writing briefs, and preparing and arguing motions
Personal Skills•Demonstrated capability to work in a team environment and to exercise sound and practical judgment•Superior research and analytical abilities•Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills•Strong analytical skills•Flexible, composed, and ability to prioritize and handle multiple matters simultaneously with a high level of competence and accuracy•Committed to professional ethics and client confidentiality•Ability to work independently and take initiative
