ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare initial discovery, i.e., interrogatories, request for production, request for admissions.
· Assist in responding to discovery requests and preparing documents for production, including ESI.
· Prepare subpoenas and related documents to obtain materials from third parties.
· Coordinate with third party vendors for legal services and projects.
· Conduct legal searches on Westlaw, court dockets and other legal websites for cases, legislation, etc.
· Prepare summaries of depositions, medical records and other key case documents.
· Organize legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, chronologies, agreements, depositions and/or trial binders.
· Assist in preparing legal documents, such as responsive pleadings, separate statements and motions.
· Investigate facts as requested by attorney.
· Communicate with courts, clients, opposing counsel, insurance companies and others as needed.
· Journal deadlines for responses and monitor for timeliness.
· Ensure proper indexing and filing of original legal documents.
· Coordinate and collaborate with secretarial team and other support staff in order to complete assignments.
