General Counsel’s office for government agency located in Queens, NY seeks a qualified attorney to serve as legal consultant for a 6-month period, to work with and assist office in the defense of personal injury/negligence related litigation, including the drafting of discovery responses, motion practice, depositions, various court appearances and pre-trial submissions as necessary.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an ABA-accredited law school; admission to NYS bar; 5 or more years of relevant experience in personal injury/negligence defense work. Experience with Federal Employers’ Liability Act-FELA related litigation and admission to Federal District Courts (EDNY & SDNY) are preferable but not mandatory. 
Nature of Position:  
Selected candidate will not be hired as an employee but will serve as a consultant under a consulting contract for a 6-month period, with possibility of extension if funding and performance permits. Work hours are 9 am to 5 pm in law offices at Jamaica Queens.  
Compensation:  
Competitive consulting fee, paid monthly, with fee amount based on experience.  Compensation does not include fringe benefits such as paid vacation or medical insurance.
