Employment Associate, Seattle Office

Garvey Schubert Barer is seeking a junior to midlevel Employment Associate to join the Labor, Employment and Immigration practice group in the Seattle office. The successful candidate will have:

A minimum of 3 years of labor and employment experience; litigation, as well as advice and counseling experience, is preferred;
Experience responding to demand letters and conducting related investigations; coordinating discovery including preparing responses and compiling documents; working with legal support staff; and drafting substantive legal memoranda, briefs and declarations;
Strong academic credentials;
Excellent analytical and writing skills;
Ability to work in a team as well as the ability to handle significant individual responsibilities; and
A client-service approach and exceptional communication skills;
License to practice law in Washington State (preferred).
Experience in labor-management relations and labor disputes, including collective bargaining with unions, election campaigns, strike planning and prevention, administrating union contracts and litigating disputes is a plus, but not required.
