MARKS, O’NEILL, O’BRIEN, DOHERTY & KELLY, one of the Northeast’s premier insurance defense law firms, seeks to hire an Associate to work in our Westchester County, NY office. This is a full-time position and offers a competitive salary and benefits package and growth opportunity.
Essential Functions:

Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including construction, healthcare, medical malpractice and general liability claims from initiation to trial.
Attend court appearances, hearings , depositions and case management conferences.
Draft discovery demands and responses, motions, case evaluation summaries, settlement agreements, pleadings, and legal memoranda. 

 Desired Skills & Experience

0-2 years legal experience in a law firm or other comparable legal environment. 
Strong academic credentials and New York Bar membership are required. Connecticut Bar membership a plus.
Experience drafting briefs and pleadings, taking and defending depositions, and arguing motions in court.
Excellent writing and organizational skills, and comfortable working in a fast paced and demanding environment.
