Job Description
Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP is looking for an International Trade Paralegal for a very busy international trade practice in our Washington D.C. office, which is located near the McPherson Square metro. This position will support partners and associates in all aspects of international trade transactions.
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
Strong work ethic with ability to use good judgment and discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential matters
Effective time management with ability to multi-task and shift priorities successfully to meet necessary deadlines
Sound decision-making, problem-solving, and reasoning abilities
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in MS Word 2010, Excel and PowerPoint
Familiarity with FileSite or iManage a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable working with numbers
Foreign language capability an advantage, but not required
Ability to work overtime as needed
Quick learner by relating individual tasks to the "big picture"
Responsibilities
Monitoring filings of trade-related actions in the U.S. agencies
On-line and in-person filings before U.S. government agencies and in Federal Courts
Drafting and filing routine applications and transmittal letters
Monitoring of public files at agencies and courts
Research and monitoring of trade-related news and proceedings
Maintaining client case files and docketing calendar
