Well-known NYC real estate company seeks highly-skilled attorney with strong previous experience working in a real estate environment. In this role, you will maintain the court calendar for actions in New York Civil, Supreme, and Federal Courts, supervise outside counsel when necessary, manage calendar calls, perform research, draft documents as needed, and advise internal clients. You have:A minimum of eight years of experience in the areas of landlord/tenant disputes, ADA compliance, disability accommodation requirements and other housing regulatory requirements and proceedings, personal injury and property claims, collections, and eviction proceedings. The ability to work in a collaborative manner within teams, and make appropriate recommendations.Well-honed analytical, problem-solving and organizational capabilities, and the ability to function effectively and multi-task in a challenging, deadline-oriented work environment. Summary of the Position:The Vice President & Litigation Counsel attends proceedings in all New York City courts in which the Company has landlord/tenant litigation. S/he maintains the court calendar, and will manage calendar calls, research, and drafting of documents when needed. The Vice President & Litigation Counsel will represent the Company in actions in New York Civil, Supreme, and Federal Courts, supervise outside counsel when necessary, and advise internal clients in the area of landlord/tenant disputes, compliance with ADA and disability accommodation requirements, other housing regulatory requirements and proceedings, personal injury and property claims, collections, and eviction proceedings. II. General Responsibilities:•Satisfactory, timely and accurate completion of all tasks and activities described above, in accordance with attorneys’ and departmental needs•Performing various other tasks, including liaison work, etc. •Provides guidance and support to internal clients on an as-needed basis•Prepares motions and default judgments, calculates damages and interest•Answers interrogatories and responds to document requests, liability claims on the Company’s properties, and interfaces with third-party administrators, insurance carriers’ counsel, and the Insured’s appointed counsel•Supervises a staff of fourIII.
