Midtown NYC Boutique Trusts & Estates Law Firm seeks associate with two or more years of experience in trusts and estates, probate, administration and planning. Surrogate's Court and litigation experience helpful, but not necessary.

Work independently and with more experienced attorneys on uncontested probate/intestate administration and estate administration. Prepare accountings. Work on fiduciary tax returns and deal with the tax authorities. Advise fiduciaries on their duties. Counsel beneficiaries on their rights. Work with more experienced attorneys representing fiduciaries, beneficiaries and distributees in complex Surrogate’s Court litigation; draft pleadings, motions, estate and trust accountings, discovery demands and responses; handle and organize detailed and complex discovery, turnover, accounting and file documentation. Counsel estate planning clients and draft estate and tax planning documents. The degree of supervision and independence depends on a person's level of experience and ability to work independently.
