Growing Washington, DC based investment adviser seeks to double its legal department by adding a mid-level plus associate to assist its general counsel. Focus of position is on the day-to-day support of investment advisory services, including fund formation and regulatory compliance. 
The mix of the work will include:  (i) 40% - drafting and negotiating fund formation-related documents (e.g., contribution agreements, joinder agreements, and agreements related to acquisition and financing of assets), (ii) 25% - regulatory research and oversight, (iii) 20% - finance and corporate governance work (e.g., drafting fund offering materials and strategizing on the creation of fund vehicles), and (iv) 15% - internal compliance-related projects. 
*This dynamic entity will allow you to blend your legal training with your desire to get “closer to the business.” You will work with the COO and with the GC in positioning the company for future growth.
