Cantor Colburn LLP, a law firm with a national intellectual property practice, seeks a Patent Attorney or Patent Agent with a degree in electrical engineering to work in any of the firm’s five offices: Hartford, Connecticut; Alexandria, Virginia; Atlanta, Georgia; Houston, Texas; and Troy, Michigan. Remote work will also be considered. In recent rankings, Cantor Colburn was 7th in the country for utility patents, 3rd for design patents, and 7th for trademarks, as well as being the fastest growing patent law firm in the country. The attorney or agent will be responsible for drafting and globally prosecuting patent applications in the electrical arts, as well as occasionally preparing invalidity, infringement, and freedom-to operate analyses.
The successful candidate will have a JD or be admitted to the patent bar as an agent and a degree in electrical engineering and/or computer science. Applicants must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and have domestic and international prosecution experience. Candidates must also have excellent academic credentials and strong writing skills. Competitive salary and benefits package.
