New, exclusive and unique Counsel role (corporate & employment) - no business required
Submitted by EsqSocial Corpo... on
We have been exclusively engaged by a long-time law firm client to assist with a unique role within its corporate department in Washington, DC. This firm is seeking an experienced corporate attorney who can step in and play a key role as a “second-in-command” to a partner with a significant practice.
Nature of Work: The work will consist of three areas:
(1) M&A-related documents (e.g., purchase agreement, joint ventures, officer certificates, due diligence, schedules, etc.);
(2) Corporate documents (e.g., operating agreements, bylaws, shareholder agreements, options plans, etc.); and
(3) Employment agreements (e.g., non-competes, termination agreements, etc.)
Types of clients: The clients range from start-ups to NYSE companies, but most of the work is on the private-company side.
Years of Experience: At least 7-8 years of experience in a corporate practice such that you can step in and comfortably take a leading role in managing and supervising matters.
Day-to-Day: In this role, you will be working closely with a very well-regarded partner, who is also a model mentor. This partner has a contagious enthusiasm that spreads throughout the team. This is not a “burn the midnight oil” role and is more of a 9 - 6 type of position. This is a chance to play a key role with important clients, where your ability to manage and supervise will be rewarded. No need to worry about portable business – there is more than a sufficient amount of work.
Law Firm or In-House Candidates: Given the broad skillset of this practice, the firm is very open to considering candidates both from other law firms as well as current in-house attorneys who wish to return to a law firm environment without the pressure of developing business.
Next Steps: If you are interested in learning about this opportunity, please send your resume (in confidence) to Dan Binstock at dbinstock@g-s.com. Please be assured any communications will be kept absolutely confidential.
