The Northern Virginia office of Squire Sanders is actively recruiting for a full-time Corporate/Capital Markets mid-level associate position. The position will work closely with a team of local attorneys, doing a wide variety of work both locally and globally.

Qualified candidates must have 3-5 years' experience negotiating/leading mergers & acquisitions (by both public and private companies), offering securities regulation guidance in both day-to-day settings, as well as initial public offerings, secondary offerings and other transactional settings (i.e., both '33 and '34 Act compliance), and general corporate/corporate governance experience. Experience in representing clients within the government contracting, software, and financial services/banking industries is helpful, but not a requirement.

The work is fast paced, with an emphasis on client service. The candidate should have a collegial, positive and mutually supportive attitude, and be willing to participate actively in marketing efforts.

Qualified candidates must have excellent academic credentials and strong writing and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated self-starter with attention to detail, team-oriented, and have an efficient working style and the ability to work well within a small office environment of a global law firm. The selected individual will need to be licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or willing to become licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia either by application to waive-in or by sitting for the Bar Examination, upon being selected for the position.
