Job Title: Chief Public Defender
 
Location: Crawford County Public Defender, 903 Diamond Park Meadville,PA 16335
 
Classification: Full-Time—Exempt, Non-Union
 
Work Hours: 8:00A.M.- 4:30P.M. Monday-Friday (40H) ½ hour unpaid lunch
 
Essential Duties: To provide legal representation to individuals that make application to the Public Defender’sOffice and are charged with an offense that subjects them to incarceration or supervision by the criminal justice system and they must meet the economic qualifications for indigence. Supervise the staff in the Public Defender’s Office.
 
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree is required. A degree in law from an accredited law school and a license topractice law in Pennsylvania is required. Must be a member of the bar in good standing with the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Must have experience in representing clients in criminal cases, or similar legal working experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
 
Pay: $65,000 - $70,000 depending on educational attainment, experience and qualifications
