POSITION SUMMARY / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Sands Capital is seeking a motivated, experienced, and highly professional Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support the General Counsel and Legal Team. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of corporate paralegal experience (law firm and/or in house) and is well- versed in a wide range of regulatory filings, contract and entity management tools, and legal record-keeping and project management-related tasks. The candidate should be comfortable working independently with limited supervision while also being proactive in its support of a very active Legal Team. This person must be exceedingly well-organized, have strong attention to detail, and maintain a high level of prudence around sensitive information 
We expect this person to work from Sands Capital’s headquarters in Arlington, Virginia Monday – Friday, or as agreed. While this is currently a full-time position, we will consider part-time candidates able to work at least 25 hours per week.
Responsibilities include:

Managing various regulatory filings for Sands Capital legal entities
Organizing and maintaining file systems, file correspondence, and other records
Actively maintaining a governance calendar
Acting as project manager on initiatives for the Legal Team
Conducting the first review of certain contracts and clauses (e.g. NDAs)
Supporting certain compliance activities
Performing data entry
Other administrative and clerical duties, as needed

NECESSARY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

B.A. or B.S. degree required
Paralegal certificate
At least five years of experience working as a paralegal and supporting multiple senior-level staff members
Skilled in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Excellent calendar management skills
Superior client service skills and demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of staff
Strong detail orientation skills
Ability to perform position responsibilities independently with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy
Solid organizational skills with the ability to both prioritize and also handle multiple priorities at once
Ability to effectively prioritize and coordinate work across multiple team members
A high degree of initiative, self-discipline, and motivation
Operates with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team
Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
Strong time management skills
