Staff Attorney; Assistant/Associate General Counsel
 
The Pennsylvania State University's Office of General Counsel seeks to hire an Assistant or Associate General Counsel who will work primarily as a transactional attorney in the areas of business, finance, real estate, purchasing, public-private partnerships, entrepreneurship, corporate and contracting matters. The successful candidate will also advise on the full range of legal issues the University faces, as assigned. This job will be filled as a level 3 or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a J.D. or L.L.B. from an ABA-accredited law school or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Applicants must be admitted to the practice of law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or be eligible for prompt admission. The successful candidate must also demonstrate the highest level of integrity and professionalism, possess superior communication skills, have demonstrated ability to work in a collegial and professional manner with peers and clients, and have a strong interest in working in the Penn State Office of the General Counsel.
