Associate General Counsel, Real Estate
Submitted by EsqSocial Corpo... on
G&S is assisting a national real estate finance and development fund in the recruitment of an attorney with 4 to 8 years of sophisticated commercial real estate transactions experience for its suburban Virginia office. The company’s expertise is in mortgage lending for multi-family and healthcare properties, so the ideal candidate will have some real estate finance expertise (ideally on the lender side). Experience with HUD, Ginnie Mae, Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac is a plus. Responsibilities include advising senior management on all aspects of origination, closing and servicing of loans, the acquisition of such loans from other lenders, overseeing outside counsel on loan closings, drafting and reviewing corporate and servicing documents, and providing regulatory counseling and compliance advice on mortgage lending and other related laws. The position reports to the General Counsel and will work alongside a Deputy General Counsel, who G&S placed with the company 6 years ago. This role is best suited to an attorney who has the ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment, is very detail oriented with strong analytical skills, and is intellectually curious with a desire to understand every aspect of the business. Hours are predictable at 8:30am-6pm, and compensation package is above-average for in-house in the DMV.
**Rare opportunity to transition in-house as a mid-level associate with thriving real estate lending focused company in suburban Virginia.
