Spanish Speaking Associate Attorney

Introduction: We have an immediate opening for a Spanish-Speaking Associate Attorney (Entry Level). This is a good position for a young attorney to gain valuable experience in a highly adversarial hearing environment, while helping injured Texas workers in their pursuit of medical care and income benefits who are dealing with deep pocket defendant insurance carriers. New attorneys are provided with assistance from experienced support personnel, and paralegals. The new attorney will enjoy great possibility for advancement and professional growth. Our goal is to acquire, train, and develop the new attorney to become a long-term part of our team. In short, this is a long-term investment and it is our intent that the new attorney will ultimately become a mainstay and a well-compensated part of our team of advocates for workers' rights well into the future.
Description of Position: Primary case administration and personal case docket management for clients who have filed workers' compensation claims for injuries or illnesses directly related to their employment. Duties will include client counseling, communications with client, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel, informal resolution of disputes, administrative mediations and adversarial bench trials at the Texas Division of Workers' Compensation. Each attorney is provided with an assigned, experienced paralegal to assist them in their day-to-day handling of client files.
Mentorship Training: The new attorney will have one-on-one mentorship provided by most senior associate instruction, training, and oversight. Our goal is to ensure that the new attorney will receive all training necessary to enable them to manage their own case docket to ensure long-term success. We believe that such side-by-side mentorship is in the best interest of the firm as well as the new attorney.
Compensation: $60k - $65k starting salary with bonus potential, 401K pension plan with 50% employer matching, 100% health and dental premiums paid for employee and family members, holiday leave, sick leave, vacation, paid CLE, bar dues and travel expenses.
Requirements: Licensed attorney, professional a60ppearance, voice and demeanor, superior work ethic, and the ability to work well with others. Associates should expect long work hours including weekends. Our firm travels to all DWC offices throughout Texas. Experience preferred but not required. Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
Case Intake and Prospective Clients: All attorneys are expected to take calls from prospective clients daily. Such client recruiting will involve answering legal questions, resolving concerns, and following through until the case is signed or rejected.
