Job Description: The Head of the Law Enforcement Officer Witness Unit will oversee the Office’s discovery compliance function concerning collateral credibility matters involving law enforcement officers who will be called to give testimony.  The successful candidate will:

Supervise support staff in the gathering and dissemination of information
Review disclosure documents to ensure discovery obligations are met
Assist and advise ADAs concerning discovery compliance obligations
Represent the People’s position on disclosure obligations in court
Maintain the flow of sensitive information from partner agencies to the office
Confer with senior staff and counterparts in other DA’s offices regarding policy and practice

Qualifications:  Interested applicants must possess a J.D. degree, be an active member of the New York State bar in good standing and have at least 8 years post-J.D. experience. Applicants must also have:
•          Experience in criminal trial and appellate practice
•          A thorough and up-to-date understanding of the New York State criminal discovery obligations and specifically the Brady/Giglio obligation  
•          Supervisory/personnel management experience
•          Demonstrated writing and interpersonal communication skills
