Senior Patent Technical Advisor position available with Cooley LLP at its office in Boston, Massachusetts. Job Duties: Prepare and assist in the prosecution of patent applications, primarily in the chemical, biotechnology, and nanotechnology industries. Analyze on a range of patent matters, including patentability assessment, freedom-to-operate analyses, landscape analyses, patent strategy consultations, and patent portfolio management. Participate in the development and management of domestic and foreign patent portfolios, including developing, implementing and expediting complex prosecution strategies. Provide technical expertise in a variety of scientific areas, including organic and inorganic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical small molecules, organometallic compounds, catalysts, transition metals, polymer chemistry, pharmaceutical, biomedical, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. Position requires a Ph.D., or foreign equivalent, in Chemistry, plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered. Professional and/or academic experience must include: understanding of advanced concepts of chemistry; In-depth knowledge of U.S. patent prosecution; patent practice; and design of generic formulae from chemical species
