Sophisticated DC mid-size law firm is looking for a Real Estate Transactions and Business Transactions attorney with 8-12 years of experience. This collegial group of attorneys has been together for many years and they have experienced an uptick in transactional work.

Attorneys who joined the firm over the last few years say that they affiliated with the firm because of its reputation for doing sophisticated work in a collegial environment and supportive entrepreneurial platform. The firm is looking for attorney candidates who can demonstrate the interest and ability to develop business in the future, but, more importantly for the near term, the candidate must possess a strong substantive skill set. Cultural fit is essential as the team will look to maintain its mutually supportive and collegial environment.

The work is sophisticated local, regional and national in scope. It involves commercial RE acquisition and disposition, development and construction, retail and office lease work, commercial lending, etc. On the pure transactions side the firm handles commercial transactions, contracts, licensing, M&A, business formations and governance, and secured and unsecured transactions. The firm serves small and middle market businesses but the work involves sophisticated matters and usually with “Big Law” on the other side.

Likely base compensation is about $210k and bonuses are generously based on objective (hours, originations) and subjective (quality of the work) measures. Candidates with proven ability to develop some business will be given preference.
