Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures provides legal/general support to the firm's attorneys and their clients. Must be familiar with and observe the firm's established policies and guidelines. Must maintain positive contact with attorneys (both the firm's and outside counsel), support staff, clients and vendors. Observes confidentiality of client and firm matters.

This position is not limited to the functions and skills listed on this description and responsibilities may be revised as needed.

This position can be filled in either our Philadelphia, Pittsburgh or New York City office.
Essential Functions

Experience in drafting closing documents such as Certificates, Deeds, Commitment Letters, Notes, Deeds of Trust, Guaranty's, Loan Agreements and Loan Modification Documents including Forbearance Agreements;
Experience in analyzing title reports, surveys, zoning certificates and other due diligence documents for acquisition and real estate loans;
Experience in reviewing leases and preparing abstracting leases;
Experience in organizing and assisting with closings;
Ability to review purchase contracts and loan agreements and prepare closing checklists;
Perform all the necessary follow-up for all post closing matters, including finalizing of closing binders;
Experience in dealing with multi-state loan/acquisition transactions;
Ability to access and search land records;
Preparation and review of settlement statements;
Review and preparation of entity documents and resolutions;
Review, prepare and file UCC-1 financing statements, UCC-3 terminations/amendments;
Coordinate recordation of deeds, deeds of trust, amendments, lot line adjustments, easements, covenants and other documents to be recorded;
Basic experience with condominium associations and cooperatives;
Highly motivated and a self-starter;
Ability to interact well with attorneys, staff and clients;
Good organizational, writing, and proofreading skills; and
Ability to track and meet deadlines.

Requirements

Education:

Undergraduate degree and paralegal certificate required; will consider candidate with comparable relevant experience in lieu of a paralegal certificate.

Experience:

Paralegal with at least 10 years of real estate legal experience needed.

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work with individuals at all organizational levels. Ability to organize and prioritize issues and workload. The ability to work on projects independently or with little supervision. Flexibility and ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities. Exercising independent judgment and initiative.
