Ropes & Gray's labor & employment department seeks an attorney with at least 3 years of labor and employment experience to join the group as a career attorney in either Boston or New York. The position will support all aspects of the department's work including corporate transactions, advice and counseling, traditional labor work, employment litigation, and training. The successful candidate will work on labor and employment due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations; draft and negotiate the employment provisions of purchase and sale agreements, merger agreements and other transaction-related documents; and draft and negotiate employment agreements, retention agreements, and separation agreements. In addition, this attorney will advise on issues involving restrictive covenants, wage and hour matters, employee discipline and discharge, reductions in force, employment investigations, compliance with equal employment opportunity laws including disability and leave laws, the WARN Act, and the design and implementation of employment policies. Superlative academic and professional credentials required. Knowledge of executive compensation law, including 280G and 409A, bonus plans, commission plans, and equity arrangements is desirable. The successful candidate will be able to work a flexible schedule, subject to the needs of the firm's clients. Competitive salary offered commensurate with years of experience.
