Cozen O’Connor’s Commercial Litigation Department is seeking an associate to join the firm’s Emerging Data Privacy Trends practice in the Chicago office. Ideal candidates will have two to five years of law firm litigation experience defending employers and technology enterprises involved in major data privacy class actions and appellate cases in federal and state courts and in arbitration. Familiarity with the Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) is expected. Candidates will have experience with ransomware and data breach, session replay/wiretapping, pixel tracking litigation, and right of publicity cases. Qualified candidates will demonstrate proficiency in written and oral advocacy skills and have excellent academic credentials.The Emerging Data Privacy Trends practice has handled over 150 privacy-based class actions, including cases that implicate cutting edge technology and novel theories regarding the capture, use, protection, and disclosure of personal data. The practice is known for anticipating litigation trends, working closely with clients to anticipate the next waves of privacy litigation and proactively address them.
