Priority Functions and Responsibilities: Handle moderate case load of civil litigation cases, including products liability, assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation from case initiation through trial Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents with state and federal court including e-filing Assist in drafting of Complaints, Pleadings, Discovery, Discovery Responses, demands, and Subpoenas Draft and file request for medical records and other investigative materials Organize and maintain electronic case files including medical records within the company software/case management system Prepare materials for review by and coordinate with expert witnesses Provide administrative assistance to attorneys, including managing calendars/deadlines, scheduling of hearings, conferences, and depositions Assist with preparation for depositions Draft and process incoming and outgoing correspondence with clients, courts, defense counsel, referring counsel, treating physicians Organize, research, and prepare the work up of damages Assist attorneys in trial Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of personal injury or products liability paralegal experience Detail oriented, highly organized with the ability to multi-task Team player, positive, energetic, kind, well-spoken with excellent communication skills Strong computer and typing skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint a must Exceptional verbal and written grammar and communication skills Trial experience is highly desired, but not required Ability to efficiently organize tasks, priorities, and schedules including deadline tracking Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Professional presentation, demeanor, and appearance Ability to adapt well in changing conditions and preform under tight deadlines Benefits of The Cooper Firm: Competitive compensation packageAdditional bonus opportunity100% of health insurance premiums covered by employerSimple IRA matchingPTO, 10 paid company holidaysFlexible schedulePositive, empowering, exceptional work environment
