Mid-sized Connecticut law firm seeks passionate attorneys that are ready to actively participate in solving complex legal matters for their clients. Zangari Cohn Cuthbertson Duhl & Grello P.C. is a 20-attorney firm seeking associates for its Labor and Education Law, Employment Law and Litigation, and Transactional practice groups. The Employment Law and Litigation Associate would be based out of New Haven; the Labor and Education Law Associate would be based out of Hartford; and the Corporate Associate would be based out of either office. All candidates are expected to have 15 years of legal experience, a diligent work ethic, and the ability to multi-task and work independently. Candidates must be admitted to practice law in Connecticut, and should possess strong academic qualifications and excellent writing, research, and communication skills. In addition, knowledge and experience with the relevant subject matter is strongly encouraged.Employment Law and Litigation Associate candidates should have knowledge of federal and state employment laws as the position involves contracts, claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, defamation, trade secret misappropriation, restrictive covenants enforcement, wage and hour compliance, sexual harassment, investigation of claims, risk avoidance, and litigation, as well as class action litigation defense. They should also be ready to take an active role in legal research and writing, responding to and arguing motions, discovery compliance, taking and defending depositions, and preparing for and participating in administrative, state and federal hearings and trials.Labor and Education Law Associate candidates should have experience in education, municipal, or employment law matters, including federal and state laws governing public entities and a willingness to represent municipalities, boards of education, and charter schools in addition to private sector businesses. They should also be prepared to take an active role in analysis and resolution of legal issues, contract and policy review, union contract interpretation and negotiations, and client service through regular client contact.Corporate Associate candidates should have commercial and business law experience and an entrepreneurial spirit. They should also be prepared to take an active role in contract review, document drafting, client meetings, transaction structuring, and negotiations with opposing counsel, and also legal research and litigation support on business disputes.
