Staff Attorney/Judicial Law Clerk- Georgia

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience.Location: Atlanta, Ga. Start Date: Negotiable.Duties and Responsibilities:The Office of State Administrative Hearings (OSAH) is the Administrative Court of the State of Georgia. Its administrative law judges adjudicate contested cases between state agencies and members of the public.A small team of Staff Attorneys assists the Judges with the important work of the Court. Each Staff Attorney typically supports 3-4 Judges at a time.The Judges treat the Staff Attorneys as colleagues and confidantes, and rely on their professionalism, judgment, integrity, writing and analytical ability, and attention to detail.A Staff Attorney is responsible for the following:⦁ Drafting decisions, orders, and internal memoranda⦁ Preparing summaries of case records and briefs⦁ Conducting legal research⦁ Attending hearings and calling case calendars⦁ Supervising law school interns/externs⦁ Advising the Judges on all matters before the Court⦁ Working on special projects as neededBackground information about OSAH, its Judges, and its Staff Attorneys may be found at www.osah.ga.gov.Minimum Qualifications: ⦁ Top 25% ranking in law school graduating class⦁ Exemplary legal writing and analytical experience⦁ Work on law review or journal (or comparable law clerk/legal practice experience)Preferred Qualifications: ⦁ Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, while also being amenable to direction and editing⦁ Ability to work effectively with other Staff Attorneys and support staffTo Apply: Submit your application to Dominic Capraro at dcapraro@osah.ga.gov.
