If you're a brilliant, talented lawyer passionate about the law and looking to make a significant impact, this is the place for you. **Position Overview**: As an Assistant Solicitor General, you'll play a key role in representing Arkansas in appellate litigation, shaping the future of our state's jurisprudence. You'll work alongside some of the brightest legal minds in the state and across the nation, tackling complex cases that matter to our citizens, our state and the nation's future. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Represent Arkansas in appellate courts, including the Arkansas Supreme Court, Federal Appellate Courts and potentially the U.S. Supreme Court. Immediate opportunity to argue in the Eighth Circuit and the Arkansas Supreme Court. 2. Research, draft, and present persuasive appellate briefs and oral arguments. 3. Collaborate with the Solicitor General and other Assistant Solicitors General to determine strategic approaches to cases. 4. Advise and consult with other Attorney General Office divisions on appellate issues, including strategic and critical litigation at the trial level. 5. Stay updated on significant legal developments and provide insight to the Solicitor General and Attorney General Tim Griffin on potential implications for the U.S. and Arkansas. 6. Participate in moot courts and provide feedback to colleagues preparing for oral arguments. **Qualifications**: 1. Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. 2. License to practice law in Arkansas or ability to obtain a license quickly. 3. Proven experience in appellate litigation; clerkship experience is a plus. 4. Elite writing, research, and oral advocacy skills. 5. Exceptional academic record: Attendance at a top-ranked law school and experience from a federal clerkship, national law firm, or public interest is strongly favored. 6. Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. 7.
