Mid-level Banking/Structured Finance Associate Attorney at Chapman and Cutler LLP (New York, NY)

Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking a mid-evel associate to join our structured finance practice in the New York office. The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in corporate transactional law at a large or mid-size law firm. Significant experience in structured finance is required.

Examples of specific types of desired experience include the following:

*Representation of issuers, underwriters, institutional investors, trustees, collateral agents, servicers, lenders and sponsors in securitization transactions with a broad range of asset classes such as automobile loans and leases, timeshare interests, commercial loans, student loans, credit card receivables or mortgage loans

* Understanding of regulatory issues as they relate to asset-based and asset-backed finance transactions and securitizations

* Providing advice to clients on structured products, as well as advising clients on the acquisition or sale of portfolios of receivables or loans

* Representing parties to secured and unsecured credit facilities, including workout, restructuring of credit facilities and other debt repackaging transactions

The candidate should also possess impressive academic credentials; the ability to simultaneously negotiate and efficiently handle multiple transactions involving inter-disciplinary teams located across several firm offices; strong interpersonal, analytical, oral communication and writing skills as well as superior negotiating skills; and an understanding of business, industry and market issues that affect clients in the finance industry. Candidates must be current members in good standing of the New York bar.
