Senior PSL-EMEA, Global Capital Markets PG at Baker & McKenzie, LLC (Anywhere in the EMEA region)

The Senior Professional Support Lawyer, Europe, Middle East & Africa (the Senior PSL) for the Global Capital Markets Practice Group (the Group) executes key content projects and knowledge initiatives with and for the Group, with a primary emphasis on these efforts within the Group’s Europe, Middle East & Africa offices.

Duties and Responsibilities

·Execute and maintain the Group's Precedent Action Plan together with the Senior PSL–AP­ and Practice Support Lawyer for North America Corporate & Securities. The Precedent Action Plan is the compilation of the Group's principal precedents and other key know how that are the minimum global legal know how needs of the Group that must be consistently kept up to date. In executing and maintaining the Precedent Action Plan, the Senior PSL will work closely with the Group’s lawyers throughout the Europe, Middle East & Africa offices, as needed

·Work closely with the Group’s KM Director to provide legal knowledge to support the Group’s other global know how efforts, and champion the Group’s knowledge initiatives among lawyers and staff throughout the Europe, Middle East & Africa offices

·Ensure Group know how is available in the Firm's legal know how search system

·Develop and prepare training materials relevant to the Group’s lawyers throughout the Europe, Middle East & Africa offices, and organize and present seminars and training sessions relevant to the Group’s lawyers throughout the Europe, Middle East & Africa offices

·Work closely with the Group’s KM Director and BD team members to provide legal knowledge to support developing client alerts, client webinars, thought leadership programs and publications, and other client facing collateral

·Action and implement other knowledge initiatives in the Group’s Business Plan

·Assist the Group’s Ops Director and KM Director in identifying and recommending to the SC knowledge initiatives for the Group’s Business Plan

·Help establish a “knowledge-sharing culture” within the Group through focused communications to publicize the benefits of KM

·Work closely with the Group’s KM Director and Senior PSL–AP to ascertain and monitor the knowledge needs and priorities of the Group

·Work closely with the Group’s KM Director and Senior PSL–AP to ascertain how to continuously improve the Firm's legal know how system

·Undertake legal and industry research as required

·Work with PSLs of other practices to help identify opportunities for working jointly with the Group on activities that are relevant across these other groups

·Work with PSLs or other lawyers serving the knowledge needs of the Group throughout the Europe, Middle East & Africa offices to monitor knowledge needs and priorities, particularly around new legislation and legal/policy developments

·Together with the Group’s KM Director and Senior PSL–AP, maintain the KM section of the Group's intranet page

·Assist PSLs or other lawyers serving the knowledge needs of the Group throughout the Europe, Middle East & Africa offices in maintaining knowledge sections of other intranet pages

·Contribute to the Firm’s Global KM projects and initiatives as and when required

·Liaise with the PSLs serving other Global Practice/Industry Groups, sharing best practices with them and learning from them

·Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current developments relevant to the Group and prepare update summaries for internal distribution, as is appropriate

·As needed by the Group, answer know how queries from the Group’s lawyers

·As needed by the Group, contribute to the Group’s other business and operational initiatives from time to time

Experience Required

·Law degree

·Current license to practice law (or eligibility for one)

·At least 4 years post-qualification experience as a practicing lawyer

·Previous experience in a capital markets practice area, including at least one of the following:

·Offerings of equity securities or debt securities

·Stock exchange listings

·Mergers or acquisitions involving publicly traded companies

·Advising publicly traded companies on other capital markets/securities regulatory matters

·Exposure to international capital markets transactions or regulatory matters is preferred

·Demonstrates knowledge of the law in relevant areas

·Demonstrates ability to draft standard generic legal precedents

·Possesses excellent writing skills
