Repairing the supply chain - The EU Directive on a right to repair

Now it’s in force: the EU Directive on a right to repair. It is now up to the Member States to transform the fully harmonized provisions into national law within 24 months. From 31 July 2026 at the latest, manufacturers and sellers need to be prepared for new rules. Supply chains become repair chains: first, consumers who have bought defective goods covered by a "legal guarantee" may choose to have them repaired instead of replaced.
