The candidate must have strong academic qualifications and an interest in and aptitude for commercials transactions. The candidate must also possess strong organizational, analytical, writing, negotiating and communications skills, and display an intent to commit to the long term success of this growing practice. It is helpful, but not required, for the candidate to have had prior work experience involving corporate transactions, insolvency proceedings or insurance regulation, with particular emphasis on the skills required to support the firm's "insurance transactions and insolvency" practice. The Hartford office's Insurance Transactions and Insolvency Practice primarily represents (i) insurance companies and private investors in strategic mergers and acquisitions, private equity and debt investments, leveraged buyouts and reinsurance transactions, and (ii) creditors, insurance companies and regulators in significant insurance industry insolvency proceedings and restructurings.
