ASSOCIATE at Epstein Becker Green (Chicago, IL)

Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is seeking a part-time associate in its Chicago, IL office for its nationally-recognized employment, labor and workforce management practice. The firm provides opportunities to those requiring flexibility in their schedules who are interested in working in private practice.

Qualifications include a level of labor and employment law experience commensurate with at least 4-5 years of practice. This experience should include a substantial knowledge of federal and state labor & employment laws (e.g., non-compete and trade secret law, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA and similar state laws). The ideal candidate should have the ability to handle certain aspects of litigation with minimal supervision, such as interviewing witnesses, reviewing electronically stored documents using Relativity, drafting pleadings and various motions and briefs, preparing for depositions, engaging in the discovery process, interacting with clients and opposing counsel, and attending to certain court appearances. Applicants should also be able to handle administrative agency charges (EEOC, state and local) from commencement to conclusion, including but not limited to factual intake, review and analysis of relevant documents, preparation and submission of responsive statements of position, responding to additional information requests, and in certain cases, mediations and attending to witness interviews by agencies.

This individual must possess strong academic credentials and have excellent drafting and communication skills. Ideal candidates will exhibit the highest level of legal and practical problem solving skills, strong oral presentation and argument ability, and client relations acumen.
