The Washington, DC office of Hogan Lovells is seeking to recruit an outstanding junior to mid-level corporate lawyer with a minimum of two years of corporate experience, to support one of the largest and growing practices in the nation handling large- scale health care transactions. The practice represents dozens of the largest and most prestigious University-based academic medical centers, medical schools, hospitals, and multi-hospital systems, as well as a variety of other clients, on complex transactions. These include hospital purchases, sales, mergers, and joint operating agreements. The work also includes many joint ventures, creation of large provider networks, research joint ventures, and some large international projects. Transactions often are in the $200 million -- $3 billion range, and involve public or well- known institutions and “front-page” transactions. The ideal candidate will possess deep experience in the practical and strategic aspects of corporate M & A work; excellent technical drafting and negotiating skills; the ability to interact effectively with sophisticated client management; interest in ”cutting edge”, complex transactions; skill at dealing with high-profile, public matters, and the ability to be friendly and collegial with a team, including supervising more junior associates. Some familiarity with health care provider regulatory issues is a plus, but is not required.
