Financial Ombudsman Service policy statement on charging fees to claims management companies and other professional representatives

The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has published a policy statement on its new fee rules regarding complaints that are referred to it by certain claims management companies (CMCs) and other professional representatives acting on behalf of complainants. The rules are aimed at encouraging CMCs to consider the merits of complaints more diligently before referring them to the FOS.
