Corporate Counsel

Corporate Attorney will need to provide legal advice and guidance to the business, handling complex legal matters by advising on company formation, operations, contract drafting, regulatory compliance, risk management, and representing the company in legal disputes, ensuring all business transactions are legally sound and protecting the company's interests; they essentially act as a legal counsel for the company navigating the legal landscape to minimize risk and maximize business opportunities, and ensures compliance with labor laws and regulations. ResponsibilitiesProvide legal counsel to the CEO and/or Executive teamEnsure the company complies with labor laws and regulationsOversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contractsRepresent the company in legal proceedings, litigation, including pre-trail discovery, settlement negotiations and court room appearancesDraft legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatoriesDevelop and lead corporate legal strategyMaintain legal documents and proceedingsOversee the work of outside counsel specifically General Liability or Workers Compensation claimsIdentify potential legal risks within the company’s operations and recommending mitigation strategiesReal estate negotiation of leases, manage leasesCollaborate with senior management to provide legal counsel on strategic business decisions QualificationsStrong legal knowledge, including corporate law, labor law, and litigationAbility to understand complex business operations and financial implications of legal decisionsUnderstanding of how legal issues impact a retail organizationExcellent judgment, analytical and problem-solving skillsSuperior interpersonal and communication skillsPrior experience working as a corporate lawyerLLM or specialization in company law, or corporate lawProfessional ethics, integrity, and gravitasA law degree or J.D.
