Sheppard Mullin's IP practice continues its rapid and strategic expansion. Since 2010, we have grown from 45 to over 85 IP lawyers. Our partner additions have come from leading IP practices, including Fish & Richardson, Paul Hastings, Sidley Austin, Foley & Lardner, Kirkland & Ellis, Winston & Strawn, Connolly Bove, Greenberg Traurig, and Morrison & Foerster. We are a dynamic and growing practice in a strong national firm that is now the 2nd largest in California attorney headcount. For this vibrant practice, we need to bolster our associate ranks with the same type of high-quality patent litigators as we have been adding, and will continue to add, to our partner ranks. Our Northern California practice seeks junior and senior associates with 2 years of real, in-the-trenches patent litigation experience. Backgrounds in EE or CS are preferable, and top grades from a leading law school are required. Skills in trademark and copyright are also valued. Successful candidates will want central roles in cases, have or be prepared to acquire the necessary skills to manage complex matters, and be prepared for significant client contact. Networking, business development, and collaboration are expected, and the senior lawyers will support associates' efforts.
